Argyreia Nerovsa is a perennial creeper with large heart-shaped leaves and white trumpet-shaped flowers. It is a plant whose cultivation is easy - especially in organic mixtures of the "super soil" type. Some psychonauts choose to use the seeds of the plant for psychoactive “trips” – the seeds contain the psychoactive substance LSA.
Cultivation Guide for A.Nervosa :
A. nervosa is a beautiful woody flowering creeper. Its leaves are relatively large in size displaying "silky" white hairs. Its flowers are purple inside with lighter colors at their edges. Its seed pods resemble woody mini “pomegranates” when dried – each pod holds 1-4 seeds.
The seed coat of the plant is very hard. Scraping them with a file rasp tool (away from where the rhizome comes out) can greatly help with seed germination. Planting them in soil with good drainage properties guarantees healthy plants (plant roots are susceptible to rot). If the seeds are healthy, the seedlings emerge a few days (<7) after planting.
A.Nervosa does not like too much light when it is young. Seedlings should be placed in direct light every day until they show mild signs of disliking. In this way, the seedlings will receive the maximum amount of sunlight and will soon adjust their plant growth rates to grow in the morning.
The soil should be kept moist but not over-watered. Regardless, the plants will need adequate amounts of water. Unlike its relative, Morning Glory (Ipomoea violacea), A.nervosa is slow growing – it can take 2 years for plants to reach 30cm tall. Unless they have been placed in a "super soil" mix, the plants should receive frequent fertilization. It is recommended to use 30-50% of the recommended amount of lubrication. The most important factor for their flowering is ensuring enough space for the roots.
