As you can read on the very popular and informative ethnobotanical site Erowid, Caapi vine and leaves are used in many different ways by people who know how to use this special plant.
Some people choose to make a tea with 5-7 grams of the plant's vine or leaves every 4-5 days in a “microdosing” regime. In this case they use the same material of 5-7 grams 3 times during the day making 3 different decoctions.

Caapi Leaf 10x
- Place 50 grams of leaves in a crockpot. Boil for 30 minutes minimum.
- This process is repeated 2 more times (3 in total).
- The mixture is strained and placed again in a crockpot. It is boiled until we have 25-50% of the initial water volume we used.
- The remaining liquid contains the equivalent of 50 grams of Caapi leaves. Then this liquid is infused into 5 grams of plant material (Caapi leaves or other plant material that is easy to smoke such as marshmallow, indian warrior herb or damiana).
- The water will evaporate and the plant material used for the infusion will have "absorbed" the active substances of the leaves. When the water has completely evaporated, 5 grams of Caapi Leaf 10x will be ready.
- Some people use this simple mixture for smoking, others use it for tea. Mainly it is used for smoking and it is surprisingly interesting!
Caution! As with Syrian Rue, Caapi is a Reversible Mao-Inhibitor. This means that potentially dangerous interactions occur when the plant is combined with medications (especially antidepressants and stimulants) and psychoactive substances. Read Erowid and other sources for more information!
