The Red Lotus shows great similarity in its effects with its famous "cousin", the Blue Lotus. It is used synergistically with Blue Lotus to enhance its effects or alone to create decoctions and wines. Lovers of Lotus say that it has the best "smoking" taste among the other flowers of the species.

Description

Red lotus flowers have been "objects" of worship for centuries by tribes in Africa and the Middle East. They cause a mild, gentle change in consciousness. They are traditionally used in ritual contexts to enhance dreams and visions. They are also used to enhance feelings of euphoria and well-being. Other uses include pain relief, memory enhancement, and libido enhancement. Traditionally the red lotus was smoked or used in wines, similar to the blue lotus. It is a multipurpose plant. In modern times, Red Lotus is also used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practices.
