Active plant part : Dried leaves
Collection : The leaves are collected on June and July.
Bioactive substances : Lactucine, lactucone, lactupiricine, lactucic acid, alkaloids, triterpenes.
Effects Analgesic, relaxing, hypnotic.
Combinations It can be used for intense cough with crimson bark. Considering insomnia, it is used in conjuction with passion flower and valerian. It is exceptionally used for stress combined with American or Chinese skullcap.
Preparation and dosage : For making a tisane, pour boiled water in 1-2 teaspoons or 1-2 tablespoons (depending on the strength of the leaves). Leave the leaves in boiled water for 10-15 minutes.
For tincture : 2-4 ml of tincture up to 3 times per day.
