Συστήνεται οι σπόροι να εκκινούνται σε εσωτερικούς χώρους, 6 έως 8 εβδομάδες πριν από τον τελευταίο παγετό. Ξεκινήστε σε γλάστρες τύρφης, σπέρνοντας 3 έως 5 σπόρους ανά γλάστρα, σε μικρό βάθος ~1,5 mm έδαφος. Οι σπόροι θα χρειαστούν λίγο άμεσο φως για να βλαστήσουν σωστά, οπότε προσπαθήστε να μην τους θάβετε βαθύτερα από το συνιστώμενο βάθος. Μεταφυτέψτε μικρές γλάστρες σε μεγαλύτερα δοχεία εάν είναι απαραίτητο ή μεταφυτέψτε απευθείας στον κήπο, όταν ο καιρός είναι ζεστός και έχει περάσει κάθε κίνδυνος παγετού.
Οι λεβάντες χρειάζονται μια περιοχή με πλήρες ηλιακό φως για το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της ημέρας. Συνιστώνται θερμοκρασίες τουλάχιστον 21C. Ένα χώμα με ελαφριά σύσταση που θα εμπεριέχει μικρή ποσότητα χαλικιού θα ταιριάζει καλύτερα στα φυτά σας, καθώς θα χρειαστούν ένα καλά στραγγιζόμενο μέσο. Τους αρέσουν τα ελαφρώς όξινα έως ελαφρώς αλκαλικά εδάφη, με pH από 6,5 έως 8,0. Ποτίστε τους σπόρους καθημερινά με ένα μπουκάλι ψεκασμού ή ρύθμιση ομίχλης, μέχρι να γίνει επιτυχώς η βλάστησηΟι σπόροι βλασταίνουν συνήθως μέσα σε 7 έως 21 ημέρες μετά τη σπορά. Τα φυτά μπορούν να απέχουν περίπου 30 – 60 εκατοστά το ένα από το άλλο. Πολλά ωφέλιμα έντομα προσελκύονται στα άνθη τους.
