Sceletium Tortuosum (Kanna) – Seeds

Kanna seeds should be sown in autumn or winter (i.e. at low temperatures, not high temperatures!) in a succulent/cactus soil mix. The seedlings are sown on the surface of the soil. Fluctuating temperatures are best, e.g. high temperatures during the day and low at night. The soil mixture should be kept moist until seed germination which becomes evident after 14-21 days.
The plant grows naturally in areas that have mainly winter rainfall. Sceletium tortuosum grows in autumn, winter and spring and likes to hibernate during the hot summer months. It dislikes high humidity. It needs sand/clay soil mixtures. Performs best in partial shade.
