Τα ραπέ είναι βοτανολογικά εκχυλίσματα σε μορφή σκόνης. Προέρχονται από φυτά στα οποία οι ιθαγενείς φυλές του Αμαζονίου και άλλων περιοχών προσδίδουν τελετουργικές, ιερές ή γενικά σημαντικές ιδιότητες. Παραδοσιακά τα ραπέ χορηγούνται είτε μέσω των Tepi είτε μέσω των Kuripe. Τα Kuripe προορίζονται για την “αυτοχορήγηση” και τα Tepi χρησιμοποιούνται από 2 άτομα. Το ένα άτομο φυσάει τη 1 άκρη του Tepi ενώ το άλλο δέχεται τη σκόνη του ραπέ στα ρουθούνια του από την άλλη άκρη του Tepi. Τι σημαίνει αυτοχορήγηση με το Kuripe; Το Kuripe έχει σχήμα V, συνδέοντας το ρουθούνι με το στόμα. Η σκόνη του ραπέ τοποθετείται στο Kuripe με τη λαβίδα ενός μαχαιριού ή άλλο εργαλείο, το ένα άκρο τοποθετείται στο στόμα και το άλλο στη μύτη. Ο άνθρωπος που επιθυμεί να δεχτεί το ραπέ βαθιά στα ρουθούνια του φυσάει με προσοχή ώστε το μείγμα να καταλήξει εκεί.
Αυτά τα χειροποίητα kuripe φτιάχνονται σε ένα μικρό εργαστήριο μιας οικογενειακής επιχείρησης στις Άνδεις του Ισημερινου. Αυτό το μικρό κομψό εργαλείο χρήσης των Rapé κατασκευάζεται από μαόνι. Γενικά, οι φυλές του Αμαζονίου πιστεύουν ότι το Rapé διευκολύνει το άνοιγμα και τον καθαρισμό των τσάκρα, διευκολύνοντας την αίσθηση της γείωσης και της σύνδεσης με τη γη. Θεωρούν ότι καθαρίζει τη νοητική θολούρα και τη σύγχυση, βγάζει το νου από αρνητικά μοτίβα σκέψης, ανοίγει το τσάκρα του 3ου ματιού, αποτρέπει την ασβεστοποίηση της επίφυσης (ψάξτε τον όρο calcified pineal gland).
Πολλοί άνθρωποι επιλέγουν να χρησιμοποιούν τα kuripes και για τη χρήση βοτανολογικών εκχυλισμάτων σε μορφή σκόνης. Caution : Επειδή ένα βοτανολογικό εκχύλισμα έχει μορφή σκόνης, δεν σημαίνει ότι μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί ενδορινικά!
