The appeal is the connection itself: how well cells run and how well they maintain themselves. Laboratory work on NAD-dependent enzymes supports this research direction. It should not be read as evidence that this powder reverses ageing or extends human lifespan.

4. What New Human Research Adds

A 2026 placebo-controlled trial studied a specially formulated oral NAD+ product for five days. It increased the NAD measured inside blood cells, providing an interesting sign that the formulation affected NAD metabolism. The study did not establish improvements in wellbeing or other clinical outcomes after accounting for the number of comparisons made.

That distinction matters when choosing research material: the molecule, its formulation and the way it is delivered are separate questions. This ordinary powder is not the specialised formulation used in that trial, and the results cannot be transferred directly to it.

What makes NAD+ stand out? It links two fundamental needs of a living cell: making usable energy and maintaining the machinery that keeps it functioning.
